Tonya Decker is highly experienced Food and Beverage Manager with a customer driven focus for being efficient and effective in managing. She is an independent leader possessing strong mentoring, supervisory, and motivational abilities. Tonya is exceptionally focused on a customer-driven atmosphere and strives to exceed both personally and professionally in the golf course industry.

Tonya has more than 25 years experience as a server in casual and fine dining hospitality establishments. She has been with Rivers Edge Golf Club for 14 years. Starting on the beverage cart in 2005, Tonya has worked her way into management over the years through her commitment and dedication to great customer service, love for our members and increasing the profitably of our Double Eagle Grille. Through her efforts Tonya has redefined the Double Eagle Grille large party functions, making it one of the most preferred venues in our market.
Tonya has studied cosmetology and later became a certified nail technician where she explores her love for nail art. In her free time, she enjoys bowling in weekly leagues, walks along the beach and spending time with her two new grandsons.

Steven Martin

  • Steven Martin is a highly experienced Certified Golf Course Superintendent with a wealth of knowledge on how to creatively and efficiently manage golf course facilities while producing excellent playing surfaces. Steven holds a degree in Agricultural Science from Penn State University.

 

  • Steven has more than 27 years of golf course experience in management, maintenance, construction, renovation, and grow-in for the golf course industry. Steven is also bilingual (Spanish and English).

 

  • Through his career he has successfully prepared golf courses for 6 Senior PGA Championships, 3 South Carolina Opens, and the John Deere World Championship. Steven has been an effectual leader for a diverse range of both private and public facilities; including The PGA of America, Arcadian Shores, The Resort Course at Grande Dunes, The Dunes Golf and Beach Club and presently River’s Edge.

 

  • Steven is a member of the GCSAA, CGCSA, PGCSA, and the FGCSA. He was awarded 2009 “National Golf Course Owners Association” course of the year, 2009 South Carolina course of the year, seven-time recipient of the Sun News “Best of the Beach” award, 2002 Golf Magazine “Top Ten New Courses in America” you can play. Steven was also very instrumental in bringing The Dunes Golf and Beach Club back into Golf Digest Top “100 Golf Courses in America”. He also attains Commercial Pesticide Applicators license for South Carolina, North Carolina, and Florida.
